Ideal robot for children to build and code
mBot is a STEAM education robot for beginners
that makes teaching and learning robot programming simple and fun. With just a screwdriver
the step by step instructions
and a study schedule
children can build a robot from scratch and experience the joys of hands-on creation. As they go
they will learn about a variety of robotic machinery and electronic parts
get to grips with the fundamentals of block-based programming
and develop their logical thinking and design skills.
From the outset mBot
with its big adorable eyes and cute smiley face
has enthralled more than 4.5 million children worldwide. mBot is an educational playmate for children learning to build and program
and an excellent educational aid for teachers in STEAM [1] lessons. It is also a frequent heavyweight contender at large robot competitions
such as MakeX. mBot gets children to engage both their hands and their brain
encouraging them to exercise their interdisciplinary abilities while allowing them to experience the endless fun of creation at the same time.
Create a wide range of different shapes with mBotÂ’s flexible body
mBot has 4 expansion ports
and can connect to more than 100 kinds of electronic modules. Children can use a variety of add-on packs and more than 500 parts on the MakerÂ’s Platform to build a variety of imaginative shapes. During construction
they will learn about the principles of electronics and mechanics and lay the foundations for understanding robots. mBot is also compatible with LEGO bricks meaning game play can continue to grow over time.
3D building tutorials improve childrenÂ’s spatial intelligence
mBot uses modular design. The electronic modules and mainboard interface are colour coded so that the corresponding colours can be connected easily. All you need to get building is a screwdriver. We have also designed a 3D Construction Guide with simply worded instructions
that takes children through the complete step by step
and helps build their spatial intelligence.
With 3 intelligent control modes
controlling mBot is easy
Do you need to avoid obstacles ahead Or follow the line using a fancy walk Then flex those fingers
because mBot is ready to go! It comes with 3 preset control modes: Obstacle avoidance mode
mBot can automatically sense an obstacle ahead and change its path in time to avoid it; Line-follow mode
mBot can travel freely along various black and white lines; Manual control mode
children can use the remote control or the Makeblock app to program mBot directly and explore its countless other possibilities.
A variety of additional programming software supports children
helping them become experts from scratch
The Makeblock App is a piece of powerful operating software. It enables children to control their mBot at the touch of a button
or combine the preset control settings any way they choose. mBot is even simple enough for children who have not yet learnt to read. Do you want to explore more complicated functions Try mBlock 3 block-based programming. By simply dragging
dropping
and combining command blocks
just like building blocks
children can control mBotÂ’s every move and create their own personal robot.
